mercurial by noformdesign mercurial by noformdesign
Stainless Steel

i've been told this pendant was bought by milena canonero when she was the costume designer for ocean's twelve while filming near chicago. she was the costume designer for many iconic films such as a clockwork orange and the shining.

I am interested, how much would a piece like this usually cost? Also, my husband recently purchased a ring from you from etsy. He loves it!

Is this fabricated from sheet?

no, it's from solid bar stock i could do it from stainless plate, but turning it on a lathe from bar stock is easier

Yeah, less labor would go into bar.IT most have some wight to it. unless the back side is milled out. well any ways thanks for your reply

it's only about 5/16" thick (8mm) and it's all the way through, so it's not heavy at all.

thanks. this piece sells for $90. bought one a while back, and the costume designer from "a clockwork orange" (among other movies) also has one.....in case you wanted to know.

Noooo...that's so awesome!! Man, you're pretty high up on the foodchain of the art world. ;p Selling to Clockwork Orange people...amazing!

Unfortunately, $90 is a little out of my price range right now (broke college student, you know how it goes) But next quarter if I can snag a job then maybe I can spring for one. :) I was reading some of the other comments and I think you said you were in Chicago? I'll be up there at the beginning of next month for the Navy's Boot Camp Graduation so if you have a shop there or something I'd love to swing by and take a look! Could you let me know? I'd love to if you do!

well, she was actually in town for ocean's twelve, but i did a little research and found a long list of movies she had done and thought it sounded cooler.

i sell at a couple places. if you want the names/address let me know. where in chicago are you visiting? you said navy, is that the north shore one?

This is gorgeous. Very elegant and clean style. It looks visually balanced, which is perfect for jewelry like this. I love how the bottom steel piece appears to be weighing down the cut-out circle of the other piece. I would definitely wear this.

Well, I think it has a lot to offer, aesthetically. Although it may not be set with any stone, it has a beautiful, unique design (like so many of your pieces). It's hard to describe, but it's very attractive on a whole.

there's something about this that's visually pleasing. :+fav: i know i'd wear it! 3 different pieces of jewlery put together? haha, that really is creative! when i'm doing something with my hands and my ring gets in the way, i'll sometimes put it on my necklace, but it never looks this pretty! ^_^
