my first use of 3d printing. the material is a stainless steel bronze alloy. the roughness of the piece is due to the printing process. layers of material are built up to create the model being printed.

it's pretty cool. you can find video of the process on youtube (which would probably be more informative than me trying to explain it). i'm hoping that the technology progresses to allow for finer detail in metal. right now, in acrylic or other resins, the detail is much finer.
