The surface finish on the face reminds me of an unlubricated parting blade cut without constant surface feed.=( I'm a machinist by trade and that's what stuck out the most to me. This piece lacks the quality of the rest in your gallery.

i worked as a machinist for 12 years, so i know all about surface finishes and holding tolerances to ±.0005", and feeds and speeds and cutting oils and coolants, too. being a jewelry designer allows me to play with finishes and textures. i know what a sharp edge can do, as well as a dull one. i can feed the bit slowly across the face, or quickly if i think the finish will be one that i desire. i quit my job a machinist almost a decade ago because i love designing jewelry. but i can still make my own tooling and fixtures, too. i'm a metalsmith by nature, and this is what i do.
