Titanium and stainless bearings.

not finished, but thought i'd put it up to get some feedback. it's a zoetrope...one of those old timey things that you spin and look through the slit to see a moving picture...right now, the little stick man does jumping jacks (just a test on masking tape to see if it works...it does). i'll either engrave pictures on something that can be changed, or make it permanent....not sure yet.

it was cool to weld titanium (the spinning part). i never really tried before, but when the machine is set right, it's nice.

here it is spinning.

Very cool idea. I'll be looking forward to the finished piece. Do you have any ideas of what the final picture series will be?

...and on a side note, titanium is oh-so-very sexy. :D

thanks. i don't know what the movie/motion will be....something that can be accomplished full circle in seven moves.

and titanium is also exciting to work with...it's easily ignited and burns white hot.

Seven moves, huh? I guess it has to be something relatively simple/short. What kind of size restrictions do you have?

each image has to fit within a 1/4" wide by 5/16" high area.

Wow, that really limits it, doesn't it? Good luck, I'll be looking forward to the end product. :D

Incredible. If I come up with anything, would you mind suggestions?

i can engrave text down to .010" high letters, so the pictures could be quite detailed....but i think simple would be best in this situation...we'll see.
